Cord3 Innovation Inc. is seeking a Junior QA Automation Engineer to join our team!
We are seeking an enthusiastic and curious Junior QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a growth-focused role where you will learn from and support our senior engineers in ensuring the quality and reliability of our innovative, three-tiered product. You will be provided with mentorship and opportunity to develop your skills in modern testing practices, CI/CD, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code.
What You’ll Do and Learn:
- Learn and Contribute: Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated tests using modern frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
- Find and Report Bugs: Perform manual and exploratory testing to identify, document, and track software defects and usability issues.
- Work with CI/CD: Gain hands-on experience with our GitLab CI/CD pipelines, learning how to run automated test suites and interpret results to provide fast feedback to developers.
- Explore Modern Infrastructure: Get exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and virtualization by supporting the team in creating automated test environments with tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Proxmox.
- Collaborate and Grow: Work closely with developers and senior QA engineers, participating in code reviews and receiving mentorship to build your technical skills in a supportive environment.
- Document Processes: Help create and maintain clear documentation for test cases, bug reports, and quality assurance processes.
- Research New Tools: Assist in researching and evaluating new testing tools and technologies that could improve our processes.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent foundational knowledge and practical experience.
- Experience with programming in Python, JavaScript, Java, Bash.
- A natural curiosity for how things work and a strong desire to learn and solve problems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- An inherent interest in software quality and finding out what makes software break.
Must hold or be eligible for a Canadian Security Clearance.
Must reside in the Ottawa, Ontario area.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have, Not Required):
- Any personal or academic projects involving programming.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of the Linux command line and Bash shell.
- Exposure to concepts like Docker, APIs, or CI/CD is a big plus.
- A passion for exploring new technologies.
Education:
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent foundational knowledge and practical experience.
